To ask the Secretary of State for Justice how many offenders were transferred from prisons in England and Wales to prisons in Northern Ireland in each of the last six years.
The intra-jurisdictional transfer of prisoners between the United Kingdom is governed by the Crime (Sentences) Act 1997.
The number of prisoners transferred from England and Wales to Northern Ireland from 2004 to 2009 is as follows:
