As previously stated, the department's review of its arm's-length bodies, announced in July, set out that the functions of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority will be transferred to other bodies by the end of the current Parliament. As the report of the review also indicated, the practicalities of how to do so will need to be considered. This will influence decisions about the precise timing of transfer.
