To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the Written Statement by Baroness Verma on 22 July (WS 101), what are the reforms needed to open the economy of St Helena to inward investment and increased tourism as required in the Written Statement for the approval of the airport of St Helena.

The Government of St Helena are currently drafting a Memorandum of Understanding, which will set out in detail the reforms needed to open the economy to inward investment and increased tourism. Once this has been agreed with the Department for International Development (DfID), it will be made public.
