To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what funding he plans to allocate to the prevention of homelessness in each year of the spending review period.

We have protected homelessness grant funding, with £400 million over the next spending review period to support the most vulnerable and tackle homelessness. Preventing homelessness grant allocations to local housing authorities for 2011-12 will be announced alongside the provisional local government finance settlement in early December.
