To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills if he will publish an equality impact assessment of his proposal to increase the maximum level tuition fees before bringing forward his legislative proposals on that matter; and if he will make a statement.

We expect to publish an interim equality impact assessment relating to the Government's proposals for reforms to higher education funding and student finance at the same time as the first draft regulations relating to the these reforms are laid before Parliament. The interim equality impact assessment will include coverage of the proposed increase in the maximum level of charges which universities will be allowed to set. It will be published on the BIS website.
