To ask Her Majesty's Government when they expect that the European Union will give Macedonia a date for the start of accession negotiations.

We fully support the European Commission's recommendation (first made in its October 2009 progress report, and repeated in its October 2010 progress report) that negotiations for accession to the European Union should be opened with Macedonia. A date for the opening of negotiations will be given once the European Council is able to make a unanimous decision to endorse the Commission recommendation.
