UK Regulation 23 of the Public Contracts Regulation 2006 and regulation 26 of the Utilities Contracts Regulations 2006, which implement the respective European Procurement Directives 2004/18/EC and 2004/17/EC, state that a contracting authority having actual knowledge of an economic operator that has been convicted of the offence of bribery should be treated as ineligible and not be selected in the tendering procedure.
