To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change what criteria apply in respect of eligibility for grant support to gas power stations to trial carbon capture and storage technology.

The Government have announced that the CCS demonstration programme (the three projects that will follow the project supported through the current procurement) will be open to projects on gas-fired power plants as well as coal-fired power plants.
All proposals for funding under the CCS demonstration programme will need to meet the objectives and selection criteria for the programme.
We are working on the detailed design of the programme, including the objectives and selection criteria, and are aiming to provide further information by the end of the year.
