The Government of Indonesia have confirmed that they have the capacity to deal with the effects of the earthquake and tsunami that struck west Sumatra on 25 October 2010. They have not requested assistance for relief efforts from the international community. We are monitoring developments closely and are in contact with the Government of Indonesia. We stand ready to assist if necessary.
