To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
(1) which (a) duties and (b) functions of the Forestry Commissioners she plans to delegate to other bodies;
(2) to whom she plans to delegate the duties and functions of the Forestry Commissioners of Great Britain.
The Government are seeking legislative changes in the Public Bodies Bill to enable Ministers and the Forestry Commission in England to operate more flexibly. DEFRA and the Forestry Commission will consult shortly on proposals for the management and ownership of the public forest estate in England.
