To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the £21,000 annual threshold his Department has set for the public sector pay freeze will be calculated on basic pay only.
The Budget announced a two year pay freeze from 2011-12 for public sector work forces, except for those earning £21,000 or less, who will receive an increase of at least £250 per year. It is for employers to define annual salary as appropriate to their work forces.
