To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change what recent estimate he has made of the annual cost to businesses of participation in the CRC Energy Efficiency scheme.

The final impact assessment on the CRC Energy Efficiency scheme published on 19 January 2010 by the previous Administration estimated the average annual cost for all participants to be £34 million. Separate estimations of the costs for business were published on a net present value basis and are set out in the impact assessment which can be found at:
