To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change what steps he is taking to secure a legally binding international treaty on climate change.
The Government are committed to seeking an ambitious global deal to tackle climate change. The Government are playing their full part in the international negotiations under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
By the time of the Climate Change Conference in Cancun in November this year, we aim to make substantial progress towards agreement on the key elements of a legally binding international agreement.
