The Secretaries of State for Communities and Business issued a joint statement to the House on 29 June 2010, Hansard, column 34WS, in which they called for local councils and businesses to send proposals to Government on how they would like to form local enterprise partnerships to replace the regional development agencies. Further details will be published in the Government White Paper on economic development later this summer.
