To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what progress he has made in discussions with the Secretary of State for Defence on the future financial arrangements for Ascension Island.

Ascension Island Government (AIG)'s financial arrangements are the responsibility of the Island Council. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Ministry of Defence (MOD) are however in discussions to work towards helping to achieve a solution to the ongoing dispute between AIG and MoD and to ensure a sustainable future for Ascension Island.
