To ask the Secretary of State for Justice what plans he has to change the rights of householders to defend themselves against intruders; and will he make a statement.

We are reviewing the law and its interpretation carefully and will explore all options before bringing forward proposals. We must make sure that the responsible citizen acting in self defence or the prevention of crime has the appropriate level of legal protection.
