To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many staff of his Department have taken authorised days of absence owing to severe weather in 2010.

The Department does not hold information centrally on absences due to severe weather. Line managers are responsible for agreeing to practical and sensible measures (such as working from home and flexibility in working hours) to manage the effects of severe weather conditions.
