To ask the Secretary of State for Health what his most recent estimate is of the number of people who use a prescription pre-payment certificate.

The Department does not hold information on the number of people who hold a prepayment certificate (PPC). Data are only available on the number of PPCs issued.

PPCs active on 24 March 2010 for England are detailed as follows:

Total 817.2
Notes:

1. Active means the prepayment certificate expiry date was on or after 24 March 2010.

2. Figures may not add due to rounding.
