To ask Her Majesty's Government with regard to the Private Water Supplies Regulations 2009 (SI 2009/3103), whether the regulations cover the constituents of slug pellets, for instance metaldehydes.

The Private Water Supplies Regulations transpose into national law European drinking water standards laid down in the 1998 Drinking Water Directive. This includes two pesticide standards: individual and total pesticides. Metaldehyde is the active ingredient in some of the products sold as slug pellets therefore it falls within the scope of Schedule 2 Part 2 Audit Monitoring.
