To ask the Secretary of State for Health what the outcome was of his recent discussions with a delegation from the Isle of Man Government on reciprocal health arrangements; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State had a positive meeting with a delegation from the Isle of Man on 19 January 2010. The meeting helped reaffirm the strength of the ties with the Isle of Man and provided a useful insight into how the termination of the reciprocal agreement was perceived there. It was confirmed to the Chief Minister that the agreement will come to an end on 31 March 2010. Both Governments have committed to review the situation for any possible negative consequences or unforeseen impacts. It was also agreed to work in close partnership with the Isle of Man Government to ensure the practical effects of the termination are communicated clearly to all those affected.
