Leader of the House written question – answered at on 25 January 2010.
To ask the Leader of the House how much was spent on (a) strategy and planning, (b) design and build, (c) hosting and infrastructure, (d) content provision and (e) testing and evaluation for the Leader of the House's website in each of the last three years; and how much has been allocated for each such category of expenditure in 2009-10.
The Office of the Leader of the House joined the Cabinet Office in 2007. Information prior to 2007 and for the full 2007-08 financial year can therefore be provided only at disproportionate cost.
During the 2008-09 financial year, £24,155.39 was spent on the design and build of the Leader of the House of Commons website. £18,625 was spent on hosting and infrastructure. £1,170.79 was spent on content provision. No costs were incurred for the testing and evaluation and strategy and planning of the website.
The amounts include total external costs and do not include internal staff costs. Figures for the 2009-10 financial year will be available only when the Department's resource accounts have been fully audited and laid before Parliament. The position of the office website continues to be reviewed.

I assume this is http://www.commonsleader.gov.uk
Site metadata says it's "built by XM London ... using NetDevPlus"
I don't quite see how this cost £24k. The design is odd and appears buggy in places, headings are not used to help people using screen readers view the site,
£18,625 for hosting is huge for what is probably a fairly low-traffic website.
