To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what estimate he has made of the quantity of food waste generated by his Department in each year for which figures are available.

The Northern Ireland Office (NIO) has not made any estimate of the food waste arising from the Department. My Department strives to ensure that purchases match demand and that, where possible, only peelings and cuttings are disposed of.
