To ask the Minister of State, Department for Transport what discussions he has had with (a) Transport for London and (b) the Mayor of London on the electrification of the Barking to Gospel Oak line.

There have been a number of discussions between Department for Transport Ministers and both Transport for London officials and the Mayor of London on the electrification of the Barking to Gospel Oak line. In addition there has been ongoing official engagement on the subject.
