To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what estimate he has made of the average waiting time for an applicant to secure a local authority allotment.

Local authorities are responsible for keeping and managing waiting lists for allotments they provide. Government do not require local authorities to provide data on the average waiting time for an applicant to secure a local authority allotment.

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
