To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government when he expects to announce the outcome of his review of part J of the Building Regulations in respect of the provision of carbon monoxide detectors.

The part J consultation commenced on 3 September and is due to close on 26 November. The provision of carbon monoxide detectors is just one aspect being considered as part of this consultation. We expect to announce the outcome of this review in April 2010, six months before coming into effect.
