To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many reported assaults on (a) doctors and (b) nurses there were in each strategic health authority area in each year since 1997.
Information is not available in the format requested. Since 2004-05, information on the number of physical assaults reported against national health service staff in England has been collected by the NHS Security Management Service. This information is shown in the following table:
