To ask Her Majesty's Government what was the total revenue received by the Exchequer from the sale of alcoholic drink in 2008.

Total alcohol duty received by the Exchequer in 2008 was £8,689 million and is published in the National Statistics Beer and Cider bulletin available at www.uktradeinfo.com/index.cfm?task= bullbeer. The revenue from other taxes from the sale of alcoholic drink is not available.
