To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change how many complaints he has received about the operation of the Warm Front scheme in 2009.

The Department has only recorded the number of complaints it has received about Warm Front since the beginning of April this year. Up until the end of May, DECC has received 275 expressions of dissatisfaction with the scheme.

Make that 276....when I can find out who to write to!
I have asked questions from Warmfront, Eaga and Warmsure after a badly installed boiler condense pipe drew in rainwater and back washed into my boiler and my kitchen.

The result is a 5 company insurance claim as the water from the kitchen flood has got in under my wooden flooring and now there is a possibility that the floor will need to be lifted.

I have taken photos and given all information to Warmfront (who have upheld my complaint!) But it appears that Warmfront are also rewriting the dictionary as "Upheld now means closed"!
I contacted Corgi (who were the then regulators of gas safety) and had the gas safety aspect checked Corgi gave the installers 10 days to install the condense pipe into a soakaway with limestone crystals to help nutralise the acidic condense water.

The installers arrived with Corgi, and on the Corgi visit day, Corgi oversaw the cutting of the 6 metre long pipe and it was left ready for installation of the soakaway. The wall had a heavy trellis on it to try and disguise the original condense pipe and after the installers had left I discovered that the trellis was put back balanced on screws which had no wall plugs!

The installers rep also let me know that I have to give them first refusal to install a new floor or kitchen....nice little earner at our expense eh!

I am appalled that the Minister does not seem to be questioning the fact that there are over 137 'expressions of dissatisfaction to DECC' per month according to the facts given. I would hazard a guess that the number could double if we knew where to take our complanits to....and maybe the Government need to be providing us with answers on what they are intending to do about this?
Maybe a list of installers not to use!
