To ask the Minister of State, Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform whether individuals are eligible to apply for a loan through (a) the Enterprise Finance Guarantee Scheme and (b) the Working Capital Scheme; and if he will make a statement.
Businesses with a turnover of up to £25 million seeking loans of between £1,000 and £1 million are eligible to apply for a loan through any of the 26 lenders approved to administer the Enterprise Finance Guarantee. Since its launch on
Businesses cannot apply for direct support through the Working Capital Scheme. The scheme provides banks with guarantees covering 50 per cent. of the risk on existing and new working capital portfolios worth up to £10 billion, thereby freeing up lender capital for onward lending and benefiting businesses.
