To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many people have been admitted to hospital as a consequence of an allergic reaction to food in each year since 1997; and if he will make a statement.
The following table provides data from the NHS Information Centre on finished admission episodes in 1997-98 to 2007-08 where the primary diagnosis is specific to food allergies.
