To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families how many schools entered one or more pupils for separate sciences at GCSE in the most recent year for which figures are available.

In 2008, 1,474 maintained mainstream schools entered one or more pupils for either physics, chemistry or biology GCSE.
