Energy and Climate Change written question – answered at on 2 March 2009.
To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change what plans his Department has to reduce fuel poverty among park home residents.
Those residing in Park Homes are eligible for the Warm Front scheme providing that they receive one of the income or disability related qualifying benefits. However, many Park Homes can prove 'hard to treat' and may not be suitable for some of the measures currently available under Warm Front.
However, Warm Front is currently reviewing alternative products which could be used to heat and insulate park home properties, to assess their suitability for inclusion in the scheme.

The Warm Front Scheme has proved very welcome, and shown some fuel efficiency to me and several of my fellow Park Home residents. Those who have qualified for new boilers under the scheme, by virtue of receiving the necessary benefit(s), are very grateful for the Government's forethought and generosity, including myself.
However, I also have many neighbours who do not qualify for scheme-approved benefits and do not have any income other than the basic retirement pension. Is there any hope for them? And further, is the Minister contemplating any action to control the excessive price increases being sought and imposed by the Butane/Propane Gas supply industry to whom we are all so beholden?
