To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what the set-up costs of the website were; what the (a) operating and (b) maintenance costs of the website were in the last 12 months; and how many hits the site received during the last 12 months.

The Show Us A Better Way competition sought ideas from the public on how to reuse public information to better deliver public services—the best ones would get developed 'to the next level'. It was hosted online through:

The platform supported both: and received 224,421 page views and received 25,405 over their lifetime.

The overall cost for developing the backend and designing the two sites was £9,223.75 (including COI fees of £650 and VAT at 17.5 per cent.). Operation and maintenance is done by existing civil servants within existing budgets: it takes very little time due to the blog structure. A years hosting cost $149.50.
