To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport on what dates (a) he, (b) other Ministers and (c) officials from his Department have met representatives from (i) HM Treasury and (ii) UK Sport to discuss the £100 million of private sponsorship for elite athletes announced in the 2006 Budget; and if he will make a statement.

The following dates have been identified where the Secretary of State met with UK Sport and the £100 million of private sponsorship for elite athletes was likely to have been discussed: 31 October 2006, 8 November 2006, 11 June 2007, 24 July 2007, 22 October 2007, 23 January 2008, 7 February 2008, 7 May 2008, 9 July 2008, 15 July 2008, 16 September 2008, 30 September 2008, 24 and 25 November 2008, 18 December 2008. I was also present at the meetings on 7 February 2008, 7 May 2008, 24 and 25 November 2008 and 18 December 2008.

DCMS officials have held discussions with UK Sport on the issue of the £100 million sponsorship on a regular basis. In addition, Ministers and officials have had a number of meetings on this issue at which HM Treasury has been represented.
