To ask the Secretary of State for International Development how much UK Government development aid and assistance was given to (a) India and (b) China in the latest year for which figures are available.
Total UK development expenditure, including an imputed share of multilateral Official Development Assistance, in India and China in 2006-07 was £375.4 million and £72.2 million respectively.
The Department for International Development (DFID) will end its bilateral assistance to China in 2011.
