asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether departments hold a reserve against future needs to replace major information technology equipment.

A specific reserve is not created in the accounts of departments to replace assets. It is for departments to plan their future spending requirements, including information technology expenditure, in a way that ensures it is affordable within existing budgets.
