To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government whether supporting infrastructure for new eco-town developments will be considered to be of nationally significant importance.
Under the provisions of the Planning Bill, projects will be considered to be "nationally significant infrastructure projects" and dealt with by the Infrastructure Planning Commission where they meet specific thresholds; these are defined in clauses 15-29 of the Bill.
