To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions how much has been spent on (a) employment and support allowance and (b) incapacity benefit in the latest year for which figures are available; and how much is expected to be spent on each in each of the next five years.

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
