To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs pursuant to the answer of 10 July 2008, Official Report, column 1826W, on Iraq: asylum, how many of the 422 applications received by the UK Border Agency from Iraqi nationals under the Gateway Protection Programme have been approved.

Applications received from former locally engaged staff for assistance under the Gateway Programme are being processed as quickly as possible. As at July 2008, applications from thirteen former staff and their families had been approved.
