To ask the Secretary of State for Justice what assessment he has made of the adequacy of sentencing options for those persons convicted of a knife crime.
We have announced that anyone carrying a knife can expect to be prosecuted; and that a tough community penalty or custodial sentence will result.

This never actually happens though does it?
They shouldnt expect to be prosecuted,they should know they will be prosecuted.
Its not fair if some are prosecuted and others arent,all of them should be.
A friend of mine was recently killed because a boy was let off for possession of an axe in his backpack! he apparantly found it on a bus.If knife wielding thugs are to be let off the majority of the time,it will inevitably lead to more deaths
