To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many sick days were taken by employees in (a) his Department, (b) its agencies and (c) the non-departmental bodies for which it has responsibility due to (i) stress and (ii) mental health and behavioural disorders in each of the last 10 years; what proportion of sick days taken this represented in each case; and if he will make a statement.

All three illnesses are grouped together under the ICD code 'Mental and Behavioural Disorders'.
Data for 2007-08 are not yet available but will be published later in the year. Information for years prior to 2004 data is not held electronically and could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
