To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what the maximum number of persons is that can be held on the immigration detention estate.

The immigration detention estate is comprised of dedicated male, female and family accommodation, giving a normal total capacity of 2,550 places.

An ongoing refurbishment and repair programme has temporarily reduced the current capacity to 2,477 places.
