To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what mechanisms her Department has in place to monitor local authorities' expenditure of funding allocated through local involvement networks for social care.

The level of the local authority contribution to the local involvement networks (LINks) is a matter for individual councils. Government funding for local authorities' responsibilities in this area has been added into Area Based Grant which is administered by my Department. Area based Grant is a non-ringfenced general grant and as such there are no requirements for local authorities to report separately on how the grant is utilised.
