Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs written question – answered on 21st May 2008.
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether Iraqi nationals who are serving employees of the British Government in Iraq who apply for resettlement under the locally employed staff assistance scheme are accorded priority over Iraqi former employees.
It is our general policy to process applications for assistance under the scheme from former and serving staff on a first come first served basis. Neither group is given priority over the other.
