To ask the Secretary of State for Health what the incidence was of (a) E. coli and (b) salmonella poisoning in each of the last three years.

The number of laboratory-confirmed cases of United Kingdom-acquired Escherichia Coli ( E. coli) 0157 and Salmonella infections are given in the following table. The most recent data available are from 2006.
