To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government when she expects to launch a public consultation on amendments to the Building Regulations; and whether such consultations will include proposed revisions to regulations regarding hot water and safety.

We anticipate that public consultation on possible amendments to Part G of the Building Regulations will be published in the next few weeks. This consultation will consider the issue of hot water safety alongside other issues.

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
