To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what recent estimate she has made of the proportion of internet-related crime affecting the UK which originates in Nigeria.

Due to the nature of the internet, it is impossible to give an accurate assessment of how much internet-related crime originates in a particular country. In the main, internet-related crime is facilitated by bogus websites and software and law enforcement experience is that most activity takes place in the United States and Eastern Europe.
