To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster

(1) which former Ministers have been awarded severance pay since 28 June 2007;

(2) how much was paid in severance pay to Ministers leaving the Government in each year since 1997.

The Ministerial and Other Pensions and Salaries Act 1991 sets out the circumstances in which severance is paid to certain office holders. Information on Ministers who have left office is a matter of public record.
