asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether there is a Commonwealth co-ordination unit in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office; and, if so, how many officials work in it.

There is a Commonwealth co-ordination team within the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's International Organisations Department. The team has three core officials, though these are supported by senior officials and a much larger number of staff working both across individual Commonwealth countries and thematic issues on the Commonwealth agenda. In the three months leading up to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kampala, the team of core staff increased to seven.
