Innovation, Universities and Skills written question – answered at on 25 February 2008.
To ask the Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills what proportion of entrants to (a) primary and (b) secondary school teacher training courses were (i) male and (ii) female in each year since 1997, broken down by subject for secondary school trainees.
I have been asked to reply.
The following tables show the proportion of first year trainees, at the end of the first year of their Initial Teacher Training (ITT) course, who are male and female for:
1. Mainstream trainees between 1998/99 and 2005/06.
2. Employment Based ITT (EBITT) between 2001/02 and 2005/06.
